The Neo Catechumenal Way started in Pune, in the year 1981, in St. Ignatius Church, Khadki and soon spread to other parishes. Presently there are Communities in 6 parishes, St. Ignatius Church (2) St. Patrick’s Cathedral (3), Mother Teresa Church (2), Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, City Church and St. Sebastian Church (1 each).
A special St. Blaize Mission was established in Poona to evangelize the lapsed and non-Christians.

Mission: The Neo Catechumenal way works to renew and strengthen ones faith to live a strong Christian life and inject vigor in small communities so that they have a personal experience of God’s love and Christian fellowship. The Communities make visible to the parishes the signs of the missionary Church and strive to open a way for evangelization of those who have almost abandoned Christian life. The members put themselves at the service of the renewal of the Church.

Meetings: The communities meet twice a week in their respective parishes,
Wednesday – “Celebration of the Word”
Saturday evening – “Celebration of the Eucharist”
Once a month they gather – on Sunday – to spend a day together in prayer and fellowship.
Co-ordinator: Mr. Philip Marcelline
