The Pune Service Team is a part of the National Catholic Charismatic Renewal Services (NCCRS) and is working towards the bringing of a Spiritual Revival/Renewal in the city of Poona. The Pune Service Team started in 1979 and the late Dr. Trevor D’Netto was the first Chairman of the team. There are totally 21 prayer groups in the Diocese of Poona. The Pune Service Team has 24 members on the board.
The Pune Service Team has a Pune Intecessory Network(PIN) which is constantly interceding for the various needs and which organizes Prayer Vigils and Night Vigils for intercession.
The YU4C (Youth United for Christ) was started in January 2009 and is a part of the Pune Service Team. It encourages youth in the Charismatic renewal to have a personal experience of Jesus with programs for the youth in various Parishes.
The Pune Service also launched in 2012 The Diocesan Bible Institute in Pune for all laity so that they could get an indepth knowledge of the Bible.
Mission: PRAYER is our Mission. Jesus invites us to shape the world we live in, and the lives of those around us through PRAYER. The greatest need today is not people or funds but PRAYER. The PST encourages its members to spend more time in personal prayer and be active in the local parish and work with the Parish Priest in all Spiritual Activities. The Prayer groups have their outreach ministries regularly, organize conventions, full day seminars, rallies and night vigils to build up the spirituality of the people.
Meetings:
PST: Meet every 2nd Wednesday at Nav Sadhana (Library Hall) at 6:30 pm to 8:30pm
Prayer Groups: Meet in their respective parishes during the week
PIN Groups: Meet in their respective parishes, during the week
YU4C: Meet once a month in any Parish
